Jan 20, 2026

When drivers are on the road, they are bound to encounter some minor malfunctions. In fact, for some problems, there's no need to rush to a repair shop; you can easily solve them by yourself. Today, we will share several practical tips to help you save time and money.
What should be done if the spark plugs freeze and prevent the engine from starting?
If a vehicle experiences a short circuit due to ice formation on the spark plugs and is unable to ignite, simply remove the spark plugs, dry them thoroughly, and then reinstall them. The vehicle will return to normal operation.
The EGR valve has frozen and is affecting the operation. How to deal with it?
The freezing of the EGR valve generally does not affect the vehicle's startup. Run the vehicle for five to ten minutes, and the ice will naturally melt away. At this point, re-power the key and the system will return to normal operation.
The throttle is frozen and the engine is difficult to start. What should be done?
If you find that the throttle body is frozen, you can pour hot water onto the throttle body for one to two minutes, then turn on the key. If you hear a "clicking" sound, it indicates that the ice has melted. If the freezing is severe and the engine cannot start, you can also remove the throttle body and the EGR valve, and dry them out by blowing air on them.

Master these few tips, and you won't panic when encountering problems on the road. Solving the problems by yourself not only makes you feel at ease but also saves you some money. Truck drivers, you might as well save these tips for future use. They might be of great help when you really need them!
