On September 7, 2025, CATL held a new product launch event in Munich, Germany, where it globally introduced the NP3.0(NoPropogation 3.0) technology platform, the highest safety level in the battery field, and officially released its first lithium iron phosphate power battery product equipped with this technology - the Shenxing Pro. This release aims to actively respond to the urgent demand for electrification in the European market and accelerate the transformation of global green transportation.
The global debut of NP3.0 technology redefines battery safety standards
The NP3.0 technology platform of CATL has achieved innovative breakthroughs at the chemical system level, structure level, system design and control strategy level, integrating eight core technologies: Flame-retardant electrolyte, flame-retardant safety separator, nano-dot-coated cathode material, cell safety device, aerogel insulation pad, fireproof spray coating, circuit stability control technology, high-voltage active cooling technology and system control strategy have formed the "safety iron triangle" of the power battery system.
In extreme thermal runaway scenarios, NP3.0 technology can not only quickly block the diffusion of heat between battery cells, but also further ensure that the vehicle's high-voltage power supply is not cut off and maintain stable power output for more than one hour, supporting the safe departure of the vehicle and emergency avoidance. Meanwhile, this technology can ensure that no open flames or smoke are produced when thermal runaway occurs, avoiding secondary accidents caused by visual obstruction and enabling safe driving and stable control in all scenarios. NP3.0 features higher safety redundancy, better meeting the high standards for the continuous and stable operation of the power system in L3/L4 intelligent driving, and significantly enhancing the vehicle's emergency avoidance capability.
The Shenxing Pro battery is a key choice for the electrification process in Europe
Europe is firmly accelerating its transformation towards electrification. However, the price, range, battery life, charging convenience and safety of electric vehicles remain the core factors that trouble consumers. Lithium iron phosphate batteries, with their outstanding safety performance and more competitive cost, are becoming a strategic choice for European automakers in their electrification transformation.
The battery of CATL's Shenxing Pro is equipped with NP3.0 safety technology and innovatively applies Wave cells and Cellto Body structure design. The system's assembly efficiency reaches 76%, achieving breakthroughs in four dimensions: safety, range, fast charging, and lifespan. It precisely meets the diverse battery performance demands of the European market and has become the best solution for its electrification transformation.
Two batteries for the Shenxing Pro were released on the spot: the long-life version and the ultra-fast charging version. The long-life version battery has a range of 758 kilometers (under WLTP conditions) and an ultra-long lifespan of 12 years or 1 million kilometers, setting a new global record for battery life in passenger vehicles. It is particularly suitable for the long-distance cross-border travel needs of European consumers. In addition, after driving 200,000 kilometers, the battery's degradation rate is only 9%, demonstrating outstanding asset preservation capabilities and highly matching the long-term leasing model of the European market.
In response to the demand for rapid energy replenishment in the cold climate of Europe, CATL has launched the Shenxing Pro ultra-fast charging version battery. While achieving a range of 683 kilometers (under WLTP conditions), the battery of the Shenxing Pro Ultra-Fast Charging Edition has a peak charging capacity of 12C. A 10-minute charge can replenish 478 kilometers (under WLTP conditions), making it the fastest ultra-fast charging lithium iron phosphate battery in the European market. Even in an environment of minus 20 degrees Celsius, it only takes 20 minutes to charge the battery from 20% to 80%, truly achieving "unafraid of low temperatures, consistent power".
At present, CATL has established cooperative relations with over 90% of the mainstream automakers in Europe and has set up three major production bases in Germany, Hungary and Spain (under construction) in Europe. Relying on the continuous deepening of cooperation with European partners, the launch of NP3.0 technology and the Shenxing Pro battery will strongly promote the green transformation process in Europe.
