Second-hand rollers are highly favored in the global construction machinery market due to their high cost-effectiveness. However, after long-term use, the equipment is prone to performance degradation or failure. Scientific maintenance can not only extend the life of the equipment, but also ensure construction efficiency and safety. The following are the key points for second-hand roller maintenance.
Regularly check the hydraulic system
The hydraulic system is the core component of the roller and directly affects the compaction effect. The hydraulic oil level and oil quality need to be checked regularly. If turbidity or impurities are found, they should be replaced in time. At the same time, pay attention to whether the hydraulic pipeline is leaking oil and whether the joints are loose. It is recommended to clean the hydraulic oil filter every 500 hours to avoid impurities blocking the system pressure.
Tire and steel wheel maintenance
Tire rollers need to pay attention to whether the tire pressure is uniform to avoid the risk of eccentric wear or tire blowout. Steel wheel rollers need to check the wear of the wear-resistant lining and repair or replace it in time. In addition, regularly clean the asphalt or soil remaining on the surface of the steel wheel to prevent rust from affecting the compaction performance.
Engine and transmission system maintenance
The engine is the power source of the equipment. The engine oil, oil filter and air filter need to be replaced regularly according to the manual. Second-hand equipment may cause carbon deposits in the engine due to long-term use. It is recommended to clean the carbon deposits every 200 hours. In terms of the transmission system, check the gearbox oil level and clutch wear to avoid gear damage due to insufficient lubrication.
Electrical system and safety device
Check whether the battery connection is firm to avoid starting difficulties due to poor contact. Lighting fixtures, horns and emergency brake devices need to be tested regularly to see if they function normally, especially during night construction to ensure that safety warning equipment is reliable.
Daily cleaning and storage
After construction, clean up the body residue in time, especially asphalt or chemical agents, to prevent corrosion of metal parts. When parked for a long time, the roller should be propped up to keep the tires off the ground to avoid deformation; the piston rod of the hydraulic cylinder needs to be coated with anti-rust oil to prevent oxidation.
Scientific maintenance can significantly improve the reliability of second-hand rollers. Operators should strictly follow the maintenance cycle and record the equipment status to detect potential problems in time. Through reasonable maintenance strategies, second-hand rollers can still maintain efficient and stable working performance, creating long-term value for customers.
