Most construction sites require a stable ground for work and special construction equipment to properly compact and level the ground.

The roller is one of the most common types of compaction equipment. Below, we have detailed different types of rollers and their applicati.

Cylindrical roller roller
The traditional cylindrical roller roller is relatively light and pushed by people. The diameter of the cylindrical roller roller is usually 1 meter. It is generally made of iron, stone or concrete and is mainly used in small and private projects, such as courtyard work.
Sheep hoof roller
Sheep foot rollers, also known as pad foot rollers or compaction rollers, are rollers with many rectangular lugs or "feet". They are highly suitable for compacting soil and silty clay in road construction work.

Grid roller roller
The grid roller roller is a type of roller with a steel bar network, which can form a grid pattern on the steel drum. It can be loaded with concrete blocks or steel accessories to achieve greater contact pressure. These types of rollers are usually towed or pulled behind tractors or other heavy machinery.
The grid design on the drum generates high contact pressure, which has almost no kneading effect on the compaction work. Therefore, they are most suitable for well-graded rough soil, weathered rocks, as well as the construction of roadbeds and base roads.
Pneumatic roller roller
Pneumatic rollers, sometimes also called pneumatic tire rollers, are large riding rollers with several rows of rubber tires at the front or rear end. Rubber tires provide 80% coverage and uniform pressure across the entire tire width.
They are usually used on sidewalks and can help with leveling and polishing projects, but they are also suitable for cold-laid asphalt or cold-mixed pavements and loose soil layers.

Smooth wheel or static roller roller
There are generally two types of smooth wheel rollers: single-drum rollers and double-drum rollers.
Double-drum rollers are very suitable for flat or gradually changing surfaces, such as asphalt. However, due to their very small traction force, they are not recommended for use in any professional field.
Three-wheel or single-drum rollers are some of the most common heavy machinery, suitable for working in compact Spaces and more specialized projects. They are very suitable for laying the foundation of buildings and for constructing highways or sidewalks.
Vibratory rollers
Vibratory rollers are almost the same as smooth wheel rollers (including single drum and double drum), but there is one major difference: they have dedicated vibratory components and are good at compacting other types of soil such as crushed stones or gravel.
Due to the natural voids in soil, asphalt and concrete, they can cause buildings to warp and sink, thereby damaging the structure. The use of vibratory rollers helps maintain the structural integrity of buildings.
